Personal Values
Purpose & Impact - I thrive when I understand the 'why' behind what I'm doing. Simply following instructions without context doesn't inspire me - I need to see how my work connects to the bigger picture and makes a real difference in people's lives. When I know my designs will make someone's day easier or solve a meaningful problem, that's when I'm at my most engaged and creative.
Direct Communication - I value straightforward, honest communication above all. If you have a specific vision or requirement, I appreciate you sharing it upfront rather than dancing around it. Clarity enables my creativity - when I understand the true constraints and expectations, I can focus on finding innovative solutions rather than trying to guess what's in someone's mind.
Commitment & Trust - When I give my word, I deliver. I'm thoughtful about making promises because I take them seriously - if I commit to something, you can count on me to follow through. This means I may need time to evaluate before saying "yes," but when I do, you know it's genuine and achievable.
Achilles Heel
Micromanagement - Being closely managed or having someone dictate my process is my kryptonite. While I'm deeply committed to delivering results, having someone breathe down my neck or control how I get there completely stifles my creativity and engagement. I need autonomy to do my best work.
Vague Direction - I struggle with situations where expectations are unclear but specific. When someone has a precise solution in mind but presents it as an open-ended challenge, it creates a frustrating guessing game that drains my creative energy. I'd much rather have clear requirements or genuine creative freedom - the middle ground of "hidden expectations" is where I get stuck.
Perfectionist Overthinking - My overthinking manifests in two ways: Sometimes I dive so deep into the details that I lose sight of the bigger picture, getting stuck in the weeds of perfecting every element. Other times, particularly when expectations are unclear, I can get caught in a loop of trying to predict what others want instead of simply asking for clarification. While this attention to detail often leads to high-quality work, it can sometimes slow down the process or make simple tasks more complex than they need to be.
How to get the best out of me
Be Direct and Clear - If you have a specific vision or requirement in mind, tell me upfront. I appreciate straightforward communication and clear expectations. This doesn't mean limiting creativity - it means being transparent about real constraints and must-haves so I can focus my creative energy in the right direction.
Give Me Space to Think - I do my best work when I have autonomy over my process and quiet time to think things through. While I'm always happy to collaborate and discuss ideas, constant oversight or interruption disrupts my creative flow. Trust me to manage my process, and I'll deliver results.
Share the Bigger Picture - Help me understand the 'why' behind projects and decisions. When I can see how my work connects to larger goals and real user needs, I'm more motivated and creative. If you notice me getting too caught up in details, remind me of the broader purpose and impact we're aiming for.
