Maddie Lewis - Solutions Engineer

I'm fascinated by how the human brain works—how we think, learn, and how AI can play a role in enhancing our thinking. At Mindset, I work on building data integration solutions that connect our AI platforms with customer needs—essentially making sure everything fits together in a way that works.

I like problem-solving, especially when it involves making sense of messy data and turning it into something useful. Before joining Mindset, I studied Neuroscience at Cambridge, where I developed an interest in brain-machine interfaces and how AI might work alongside human cognition. I’m still fascinated by where AI is headed, so I spend a lot of time reading (and probably overthinking!) the latest developments—or just indulging my love of science fiction and imagining what’s next.

  • Lifelong Learning – I thrive when I’m constantly expanding my knowledge and skills. Whether it’s through hands-on experience, tackling new challenges, or deep diving into a topic, I’m always looking for ways to grow.

  • Intellectual Curiosity – I pick up new concepts quickly (generally!) and enjoy solving complex problems. I love connecting the dots between ideas and applying what I’ve learned to create better solutions.

  • Time Perception & Management – I can get absorbed in deep work and lose track of time, which sometimes makes task-switching and deadlines tricky. I’ve developed strategies to work around this, like setting clear priorities and using structured time blocks.

  • Taking on Too Much – I tend to get excited by new opportunities and challenges, which sometimes leads me to take on more than I can realistically manage. I’m learning to balance my enthusiasm with better prioritization.

How to get the best out of me

  • Let Me Get into Deep Focus – I work best when I can fully immerse myself in a task without constant interruptions. If I have a small number of high-priority projects and the space to focus, I can produce my best work.

  • Give Me Something to Learn – If I’m learning something new or building a skill, I’m far more engaged and productive. I appreciate opportunities where I can apply new knowledge in real time.

  • Leverage My Competitive Streak – I’m motivated by challenges and opportunities to push myself. Whether it’s improving a process or surpassing previous goals, a bit of competition helps me stay focused and perform at my best.
