Niamh Mulhall - VP of Operations

I am a very driven, ambitious individual, always looking to push the business and my team forward. I love to exercise, whether it's climbing, spinning, boxing, or pilates - exercise is a mental holiday for me. I am currently in the process of moving to Chicago, USA with my husband. If I am not working or traveling the world, I am normally dog-sitting!

Roles

  • Leader of the and

  • Co-Founder & Executive Director

Personal values

  • Dependable - Being dependable is probably the most important value to me. When I commit to something, I follow through, whether it’s a promise to a friend or a responsibility at work. People can count on me to be reliable, present, and prepared, no matter the situation. I strive to be someone others can lean on, knowing that my words and actions align.

  • Self-awareness - I understand my strengths, my flaws, and everything in between. I know that self-awareness isn’t about perfection; I am always open to feedback and improvement. I think it’s about being honest and continuously striving to be the best version of myself. I always try to be 1% better than yesterday.

  • No such thing as Work-Life Balance - I believe that work and life are truly integrated, I am always working, and am always living, there is no distinction between the two for me. I don't feel like I ever finish work and therefore I am always available (no matter where I am). Likewise, I appreciate the flexibility Mindset offers me for personal or family needs. I don’t expect everyone else to work like this, this is just what works for me.

Achilles heels

  • Improvisation & spontaneity - anyone who knows me, knows I plan everything, and I find it really hard to be ‘put on the spot’, you also won’t get the best out of me this way either. People say this comes with practice, but I don't know if this will ever be a strength of mine - I like planning and being prepared (I don't think there is anything wrong with that!)

  • Multi-tasking - this may come across like I am not paying attention or listening but that is not the case. I always need multiple things going on. My brain is like a news station with many different shows on at once. This could be mistaken for lesser quality work, but the truth is I am more motivated and proactive when I have a full to-do list. Working on one thing at a time makes me uncomfortable and I become distracted.

  • Trust - Not because I don't value it, but because I don’t give it very easily. I struggle with letting my guard down, often questioning intentions and I try to protect myself. Whilst I really respect deep, meaningful connections, I often hold back. It’s something I continue to work on, as I know that i need to be more vulnerable.

How to get the best out of me

  • Learning on the job - I learn by doing and am a very quick learner. If you ask me to complete a course or read a book, unless I can apply it to a real situation I am experiencing in life I find it very difficult to grasp the concept. Yet, give me a task to get done, and ill find a way, whatever it may be.

  • Give me freedom - I can’t stand being micro-managed or someone trying to dictate what I do every day. Let me handle the issues and tasks that arise on my own, and I will reach out to my colleagues for support if and when required.
